Hello everyone i am new here and have a question

Hello how is everyone doing this week? First off i would like to introduce myself my name is Floyd, i am a computer fanatic, I've built computers. servers, websites to some of everything if you name it i probably took part in that activity! Now i am a At&t customer and i just went down there and purchased myself an Apple iPhone 3GS. Been up many hours "playing around" with it. from converting ringtones from mp3 files to setting my wallpaper up and resizing it to fit on to the iPhone screen resolution. I have searched google.com and it has only left me with confusion. Now what is jailbreak? how on earth do i get it?

I've searched online trying to find it, but i found one that isn't very windows 7 64 bit friendly. So i guess i'll have to give it a try and try the Windows XP virtual console, hopefully that will help. Now here's what i have been wondering, i never used any hacks or unlocks on any phone since i've been with at&t i fear that if i use this will i get suspended/banned from my contract or is it a "stealth mission" meaning it will bypass anything that at&t get's regardless.

I find it silly, that people around the world have to deal with this. We all should have equal freedom. Everyone should have an iphone that can do anything without limitations! Playing with Emulators, being able to use a USB bluetooth 2.0 dongle to transfer photos. I mean come on give us a break! But i don't want to go any further to make this thread any longer guys. I appreciate any help that i receive from you all in the future.

jail breaking does a lot. i'm not really sure how to explain it well buts it's definitely so handy. tweaks, to tools, to free apps. it's really amazing. idk how i'd function without it. what firmware are you on?
