Thread: iphone 3G jailbreaking

hi everyone have just recently bought a iphone 3G and it was already jailbreaked, i have the app cydia its the first time i have owned a iphone so dont really know that much about jailbreaking but my jailbreak has just stopped working and when i try buy a app it says there is a billing problem with a previous purchase. please update your payment method so what do i do shall i restore it and reinstall cydia and upgrade?

That just sounds you need to update your payment method on itunes. I take it cydia still loads up ok?

yes cydia still loads up ok but i can no longer get any apps not even free ones, i was reading something earlier that if my phone is jailbreaked i have to keep upgrading the jailbreak because apple keeps patching it up is that true? and is there any suggestions on how i can fix my problem

The only time you need to update your jailbreak is if Apple update there firmware. The only time you should update to this new firmware tho is when a new jailbreak becomes available. Do not under any circumstances update via itunes intill said jailbreak becomes available.

Now onto your app problem.

Ok I take it you do not have installous installed on your phone?

If you dont do the following.

1. Load up Cydia and select "manage" at the bottom

2. Select "sources"

3. Select "edit" at the top right.

4. select "add" at the top left.

5. In the box that pops up enter, http://cydia.hackulo.us and select "add source"

6. When prompted select " add anyway"

7. Select "done" top right.

8. Tap on the hackulo repo you should now see and scroll down to installous and install it, this will also install appsync, which I think may be your problem.

9. Load up installous and search for any app, download it and see if it installs.

In installous settings you can set to auto install and auto delete download once installed.

you are a legand mate it worked thanks alot but when i tried to install apps from the app store it does the same thing again i have to install the cracked apps and before my problem started i just went on the app store and installed apps for free and i used to be able to go in itunes and download music for free aswell but now i carnt and i have tried to delete my account with itunes but carnt seem to find how to delete it and when i load up cydia at the top it says downloading release then it says failed and failed to fetch etc etc

Are you connecting to cydia via 3g or via your own home network? Who is your phone network provider?

As for you itunes problem I would maybe do a reinstall of itunes sounds like you got a corrupt install.

i am connecting to cydia via my home network and my provider is o2 and thanks i will try a reinstall of itunes see if it works
