As reported today by the Wall Street Journal, iPhone exclusivity in Gemany is about to end. And O2 and Vodafone are poised and ready to swoop in and carry the iPhone just in time for the holiday shopping season to commence. ---Quote--- Deutsche Telekom AG will lose exclusivity for Apple Inc.'s iPhone in Germany ahead of the holiday shopping season, bringing the number of providers that sell the device in the country to three, people familiar with the matter said. ---End Quote--- The Wall Street Journal noted that Deutsche Telekom had sold somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.9 million iPhones in Germany as of June 30. Until now, Germany was hailed as the last major European country to support iPhone carrier exclusivity. With carrier growth now coming to and end on the German homestead, it will be interesting to watch just how lucrative and beneficial this arrangement will prove for Apple and its customers.
