If you have a device that’s booting into recovery mode and every time you reboot it, it just goes back into recovery mode, you can come out of this mode without restoring with a couple of commands.
First, download irecovery for Windows or OSX.
Install the apps. Note, for Windows, if you’re running vista or windows 7, make sure you install the app using xp compatibility mode. If you do not, your USB will be dead on the system until you manage to uninstall it. If you have a USB mouse / keyboard, you’re done.
Run irecovery -s from the command prompt. In OSX this is terminal and in Windows this is cmd.exe:
Type these commands. Wait about 2 seconds between each:
setenv auto-boot true
saveenv
fsboot
After the last command, 5 seconds will go by and your iPhone should reboot.
Hey there i haven't tried this one but as for i know only if we talk about Apple products only Apple software's and applications seems to work well and 100% compatible so not really sure if i want to give it a shot even if yes. I will surely do a backup before going to do this.
The blogger has given us a detailed description of how to use iRecovery to get out of recovery mode without restoring. He has given us a detailed description of how it can be done. The hallmark of this blog is its simplicity. See how clearly he has presented his points. Needless to say the author has done a really commendable job. Such blogs are the need of the hour. I hope that the author will continue the good work in future also.
I have tried this multiple times, but I always end up in recovery mode even after it reboots. Any other tips? I have a lot of sentimental photos that I don't want to lose!
I've also tried EasyiRecovery along with TinyUmbrella. I'd really appreciate it if you could help me out! Thanks!
Info: Windows vista 32 bit home premium
iphone 3gs
firmware 4.0.1
I HAVE NO BACKUPS. I had errors in backing up everytime I synced, and I deleted all my previous backups in an attempt to fix my backup issues.
I got into recovery mode by falling asleep on the phone talking to someone and waking up to a dead phone.
I have tried this multiple times, but I always end up in recovery mode even after it reboots. So I don't know why is like this?

I need drastic help. I double clicked on the file and then the keyboard and mouse stopped working as soon as it goes into windows - normal, safe mode, last know configuration, etc.... I can't do anything now.
Computer is on Windows 7.
Any help please.
I've also lost my USB keyboard and mouse! You mention XP mode AFTER saying "install the apps"!
Found an old PS2 keyb and uninstalled - now OK again. iRecovery though did not fix my iPad 2 (3G, 64GB). I ran Libusb as admin in XP mode and then irecovery –s. It says:
“Got USB”
“No iPhone/iPod found.”
Does iRecovery normally work with an iPad 2/3G?
